Bosch Intrusion Detection Alarm Panels

Intrusion Detection Alarm Panel - A Simple or Complex System Choice

In this video, Ari and Shaun outline a few considerations when choosing an intrusion detection system (IDS). When making a choice for your application, several factors need to be considered:

  • commercial or residential
  • large or small
  • system complexity
  • threat level
  • threat likelihood
  • potential loss level
  • intrusion detection only
  • intrusion detection with access control
  • intrusion detection with fire alarm
  • jurisdictional regulations

Intrusion Alarm Panel Capability Overview

One of the most talked about new features is the integration of the new G Series into the Bosch VMS platform as well as directly to Bosch IP cameras.  The video and intrusion system integration allows for alarm conditions to be viewed within the Bosch VMS platform using the Divar IP appliance or the Bosch VMS software platform.

How hard is the programming/integration of the intrusion alarm and the IP video recording/viewing platform? Below is a short "techy" video that shows the basics of integrating a Bosch intrusion alarm panel to Bosch IP video recording platforms.

Another key topic is about 3rd party system integration.  Bosch has a team of engineers in Lancaster, PA as well as around the globe that are positioned to assist with project based, strategic system integrations. Contact Steve Pennington for assistance with complex integration inquiries. steve@MidChes.com

There are also creative ways to leverage SD card edge recording on the cameras to introduce the concept of video verification of alarm conditions to your customers using text alerts of emails with snapshots of the alarm condition attached. Learn about edge recording here

A key question from the audience involved the resurrection of benefits for key intrusion alarm dealer partners. Knowing now that Bosch is currently in the process of revamping and providing additional benefits for being a preferred Bosch intrusion dealer, how often is the crime report information updated and how often do integrators have to pay Bosch on the crime reports? Per download, per update, quarterly? Answer: The crime data featured in SecurityGauge Reports are updated every year, using the most recent final (non-preliminary) raw data. The data is analyzed and reports are built using a proprietary SecurityGauge methodology. Based on their Tier Level, BASD (Bosch Authorized Security Dealers) will receive X number of free, location based, reports.  After the free reports are exhausted, new reports can be purchased at $19 each (compare to $188).
